Jaime Zobel Flores Y Formas Fotografias

catalog of Flowers and Forms for Cadiz, Spain.

" Describing either my style or my approach to photography has never been easy for me. This is because I photograph mainly according to my instincts and the emotions of the moment. These determine what I eventually convert into a photograph. My creative work is born out of an unconscious process that continues until the very moment when I take hold of the camera and capture the subject.

Flowers in particular have always been a source of constant fascination for me. I learned to appreciate flowers when as young boy I would watch my father take great pleasure in tending them in his garden. Now when I stand before a flower I do not believe I see it simply as such. Instead I look at it admiring its form and color. Through a micro lens I probe the flower, observing and exploring it until I arrive at a point where form, color and light completely fill my lenses. It is then when I release the shutter. In these moments I lose all sense of time and space and cannot help but feel a profound reverence for the divine Being that created such Beauty.

Man continually takes great pain in attempting to duplicate what he sees in Nature. I doubt that he shall ever succeed. The most any man can do is imitate it. I am one such man. " Jaime Zobel
